UCV continues to advance in excellence. A prestigious international list placed it 8th among the best universities in Peru and 151st in the entire region.
Universidad César Vallejo (UCV) ranked eighth among all Peruvian higher education institutions on the “Latin America University Rankings 2023” by the British magazine Times Higher Education (THE), which was published at an international event. In 2022, UCV was ranked 10th in this ranking.
UCV's Vice-Rector of Research, Dr. Jorge Salas Ruiz, confirmed that the most recent “Latin America University Rankings 2023” lists the best universities in the Latin America and Caribbean region, considering 13 indicators grouped into 5 categories: teaching, research, citations, international outlook, and industry income.
“This is a recognition of the sustained work carried out by the Research Vice-Rectorate with the implementation of an ecosystem that includes researchers, Renacyt teachers, all our doctoral students, and the entire university community that has invested in research as a key element,” he said.
Additionally, Dr. Salas Ruiz highlighted the actions taken by UCV to position itself among the top eight Peruvian universities in this prestigious international ranking:
-
The number of publications and scientific articles, with more than 1,300 publications in indexed journals on platforms such as Scopus.
-
The funding of faculty research projects is estimated at nearly 2 million soles.
-
The number of teachers qualified by Concytec as researchers, with more than 250 teachers qualified as researchers or Renacyt teachers.
-
UCV is positioned as the second university that registered the most patent applications for research in the previous year 2022, with more than 50 patent applications registered with INDECOPI.
-
More than 200 books were published through the editorial fund and registered with the National Library of Peru, disseminating our knowledge.
The Vice-Rector of Research at UCV stated that moving from 10th to 8th place in the Latin America University ranking provides Universidad César Vallejo with greater sustainability and positions it as one of the favorites to participate in external competitive funds with projects funded by the European community and other international academic organizations.
It is worth mentioning that, at the Latin American level, Universidad César Vallejo is ranked 151st in this international ranking prepared by the British magazine Times Higher Education.
Also, in the Top 8 in Impact and Development, Universidad César Vallejo is also in the TOP 8 of Peruvian higher education institutions that meet the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), according to the “Impact Rankings 2023” by Times Higher Education.
In this international ranking, UCV stands out with the Sustainable Development Goals such as:
